CLEANING

  • Our daily salon cleaning products are from the Ecostore Company which has a sustainable approach to all aspects and uses safer, healthier natural ingredients.
  • We have a collection of plants for their ability to tolerate low-light, live indoors and filter CO2 and harmful chemicals from the air such as ammonia, formaldehyde and benzene.

ENERGY

  • Where possible we have implemented solar as our source of energy with the exception of our heating devices that are all switched off when not being used.
  • We have placed LED lighting throughout the caravan which generates less energy, lasts longer and do not emit heat.
  • Most salon lighting is switched off when we are closed, the exceptions being our lighting outside of the salon, security and internet.

DESIGN

  • The salon being an 1960’s vintage caravan, we are not contributing to land being taken over for more retail spaces to be built.
  • Re-homed fixtures and appliances from the original layout of salon.

WATER

  • We have installed a water saving shower head on the basin, which doubles the water pressure and uses 40% less water. We use chlorine free water leaving your hair softer, smoother and in better condition.

WE'RE STILL WORKING ON

BECAUSE WE WANT TO DO BETTER

  • Collection of cut hair for potential re-use such as oil spill cleanup
  • Recycling used sharps and broken electrical equipment
  • Disposal of Chemical waste.
  • With Napier being an ever evolving and creative city, we feel honoured to be a part of it and able to contribute big or small to our environment.
